The government museum and the adjacent Venkatappa art gallery is placed in such a great location but needs better upkeep. They have common and ample parking at just INR 20 an hour and the entry is also just INR 20. The Govt Museum has interesting sculptures, the artifacts collection is lacking, and the Indian painting collection captures different styles of the country. Venkatappa art gallery houses Venkatappa's paintings on the Ground Floor, Hebbar's paintings on the second floor, and a collection of modern paintings on the first floor. Venkatappa and Hebbar's paintings are great but the other collection can really be updated.

This place showcases beautiful artwork. Entry fee is only Rs.20/-(20 Rupees is for the government museum along with the art gallery). The building has three storeys, with various sections like Hebbar section, Cheppudira Ponnappa Rajaram section. Good place to visit, if you are interest in art.
