Only if you love archeological spots, it will be a good experience. This palace after the reign of umabhai thamburratti, is now maintained as a museum
It has great collections of coins, agricultural equipments, cutleries etc collected from Palodu, vithura and nearby areas. Best part of this museum is they have got very friendly and polite staff who explains each of the items displayed there with utmost sincerity. Though it seems to be renovated, outside aesthetics is maintained as it is and looks soo traditional.

Koyikkal Palace is two-storeyed with a nalukettu with an inner courtyard and slanting gabled roofs. The palace houses a Folklore Museum and a Numismatics Museum currently which showcases brass/copperware and wooden kitchenware. The artifacts inside the palace are representing the lifestyle of the Keralites during different periods. Numismatics Museum has a rare and historically valuable collection that is a vestige of the trade relation of Kerala in the bygone ages.

Is this the place built by umaiammai maharani of travancore 1677 to 1684. Now it seems two storey small building. When we imagined during the earlier stage of kingdom and it is considered to be surrounded by the forest those days. Still looking best(yes after the renovation by the govt). Can give intro to the kids.
