Calm and Peaceful place. No potable water near caves or up in the caves. Carry plenty of drinking water with you, specially if you are planning summer trek...which is exhaustuvely hectic and tiring.

What to say of this place? Must do. A little slippery on the last bit, but the climb is worth it. Recommend taking a local person from the village along, if trekking for the first time.

Ganapati Gadad... The name itself hides the speciality of this place. Dark means a Cave. This Place is situated in Thane district, from there to Murbad taluka and the beautiful Village of Sonavle. The distance from Kalyan to Murbad is about 27 kms. Better to have your own vehicle. ST service from Kalyan to Murbad is good. From there, private vehicles can reach Sonavale. This place can also be reached through Malshej Ghat. For that one has to travel to Sargaon, Umroli, Dhasai and Sonavale. Along with this, there is also a route from Murbad to Mhsa Junction and from there to Dhasai.
