Fambonglho wild life sanctuary is a day long trip from gangtok. It takes 45 minutes by car to reach the entry gate. Although it is written permit is needed, no one checked for permit; rather at the parking space, a security person charged us Rs. 55 per person. You will not need a guide but as this trel is part of wildlife Sanctuary, you may encounter wild animals especially black sloth ? bear. The trek one way is around 4.5 kilometre and takes around 2 hours. One should start early as post 12 noon you will get cloud cover. No food stall or water is available on the way and no Potter hence whatever you need you need to carry the same. The trek is not difficult at all for a fit person.

The trip was amazing. Had a good time trekking amidst the dense forests. The only draw back was the leeches. After about every 20-30 steps leeches would be all around the shoes, pants and jackets. For a 3 hour trek it took around 5 hours. Glad we started at 9 am sharp otherwise it would really be hard. Prior to going their during this time i would recommend all to carry a small bag of salt or santizer spray before entering the trail. Be careful of the leeches that fall from the tree. Cover your head will a cap so that leeches do not enter your head. Wearing high boot and light coloured clothes really help you during these times. Overall a great experience
