Swamy's mess , West fort, Trivandrum Go for it if you want quality homely food which is so tasty and healthy at the same time in a very vintage ambience. I am having a short vacation in Trivandrum and already went there twice. Thats the kind of the feeling the food here gave me.?? We had curd rice and hands down it was the best authentic curdrice I ever had in Trivandrum. Curd rice was served with mulaku kondattam, veppilakatti and pickle, along with a dash of puliinchi. You can ask for pappadam, side dish as per your choice. I was told that they mix fresh butter (venna) with the curd rice. The meals is equally great, with the choice of white rice( ponni rice) or chemba rice ( red rice) .There will be two side dishes, parippu, sambar, rasam, teeyal, moru, along with pappadam , pickle and veppilakatti and its definitely served on banana leaf!. You can also ask for a little bowl of freshly churned curd which is rated at Rs 10. And the side dishes and list of curries keeps changing every day. Trust me, our whole body was cooled down after having the food in that hot afternoon. The people there are so warm...especially the main person there, sorry I forgot his name....So do head to Swamy's mess if you want some great healthy vegetarian food that will make your tummy smile.
