Fabulous place to go and just sit in evening and enjoy. The coffee here is famous throughout Jaipur. And even during busy traffic hours it's a calm place to sit and chill.

I had the chance to visit Statue Circle with my parents and sister, way back in 2007, during our multi-city North India trip. Situated in the middle of a busy intersecting road of the Pink City, Statue Circle is reminiscent of the rich history of Jaipur. The name, of course, coming from the life-size white marble statue of the man who founded the city in 1727 - Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The statue illustrates the king holding an astronomical diagram, possibly capturing him in one of his thoughtful moments, as he went about planning and constructing 5 Jantar Mantras across the country. Of course, he will always be remembered most by every Indian - because of Jaipur. And by every Bengali - because he gave the chance to Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, all the way from Naihati in Bengal, to be its chief architect and city planner. Although it was quite some time back, I do remember also visiting some of the other tourist attractions which are a stone's throw away from the Statue Circle - Birla Temple, Galtaji Temple, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple to name a few. For those who are looking to pick up inexpensive souvenirs, you have the Jauhari Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar and Nehru Bazaar nearby. Overall, a nice place to chill, and a must visit if you are a fan of Jaipur, and the man who made this city possible!
