One more historical monument and design landmark is rangeen darwaza, one of the 52 gates of Aurangabad city.
This is historical and monumental structure is built in stone and surrounded by trees, is opposite to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj museum and near to collector office.
It is somehow preserved but need more attention so it remains alive else it might disappear as other gates are disappeared.

Aurangabad is known as the ‘City of Gates’ and consequently this walk will specially take the walkers round 3 gates and revive its historyNaubat Darwaza, Kala Darwaza and Rangeen gate are all a part of Quil-e-Ark fortification gates. Rangeen Darwaza changed into the main front gate to the palace in particular for the royalty and nobility. It does not have a gallery for the Rangeen Darwaza. Kala Darwaza became an front gate for the navy guys as they lived simply outdoor this gate. Rangeen gate become an entrance from the east. The fortification wall became in excellent situation however changed into demolished to make street on both aspect of the gate.

One of the things that make Aurangabad stand out from the several other medieval cities in India are its 52 ‘gates’, each of which have a local history, or had individuals linked with them. In fact, Aurangabad is known as city of gates becuase of 52 gates built at the every entrance in the city of which Rangeen Gate is well Preserved.
