Patwardhan palace is the icon of patwardhan dynasty who ruled jamkhandi state for one and half century. Jamkhandi state was founded by shrimant gopalrao patwardhan in 1811 and Jamhandi was the capital of the state. Previously the state was under british rule and in 1948 it merged with india. The name of the state was derived from jambukeshwar temple. In the patwardhan palace area there are some building in good condition, rameshwar and ganesh two ancient temples are good to visit with ramteerha lake.
