Well known, historical hotel and restaurant in CBD area.
Ballal Residency is 50+ year old hotel chain. The Palmgrove restaurant is part of that hotel building complex.
This restaurant has old BLR charm. Very good South Indian food.
Their service staff is not people friendly. They take down any food orders on pieces of paper - no gadgets here.
They don’t like if one changes the order as they have to scratch the item on paper. Best to be fully prepared before calling the person taking customer food orders.
The interiors remind one of vintage Bengaluru. Reasonable amount of parking is available for guests.
Price is very reasonable. Restaurant is clean and well maintained.
Overall a good place for south indian food in central Bengaluru.

One of the hidden gems in Magarth road.
Old styled restaurant with the authentic coastal Karnataka ( Kundapura/Udupi style) vegetarian cuisines. The thali is must try and it costed us INR220 during Dec 2022.
The best part of the thali is hot Puris, authentic homemade curd and the lip smacking chutneys .
Even the north Indian cuisines are authentic and worth trying
Usually crowded during lunch hours , so suggested to reach a little early.
