It's a good place to visit in the monsoon. Filled with lush greenery and beautiful scenic views. The walking trails and pretty but beware of mosquitoes. The hike up to the fort is a little slippery and around 2.5hrs upwards. So wear proper trekking shoes and carry water. The bird sanctuary in general isn't that good - hardly 4 types of birds to see. You need to carry binoculars and try to spot free birds. Couldn't see many types of flowers, it's mainly just trees. There is a canteen inside that servers tea, snack, thali and more. Too many monkeys around. Drinking water is available. Paid parking, for bikes - Rs.50 Entry fees for adults is Rs.60 This place is good for a quick and simple day outing.

Serene greenery during monsoons makes this place a heaven. With small water falls and streams all around, it is fun to visit in the rains. The trek to the top of the Karnala Fort is a bit difficult and slippery but a great view from the top.

The place is awesome, but do plan it well if you wish to climb the mountain. The biggest joke is that there are no such birds as you would expect. Hardly some birds which you would have seen already. The canteens inside the sanctuary are pathetic. Bring your own food and energy drinks in your own steel bottles and utensils because packed food is not allowed at the entrance. It takes about 2.5 hours or more to reach the top of the hill. Once you reach the top, the view is amazing. Also, wear spike boots as due to slippery, many people risk injuries. I myself fell badly on my back, but thankfully my backpack saved me.

It's really good place to spent your time between nature, it's quite near from Panvel and its convenient to go by road. You will get snacks and food in the Sanctuary. Plastic are not allowed. You may enjoy forest trails, Bird Watching, Springs in Monsoon and Fort if you love to track.

Beautiful place amidst lot of greenery and soothing chirping sounds of birds all around. You’ll spot a set of monkeys roaming around as well. Visit in the monsoon to experience the vibrancy around.
