BhoothathanKettu Dam & Reserve Forest is a small but popular tourist attraction near the famous Thattekad Bird Sanctuary at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district. There is a small children's park and boating facility available near the dam. A short trek through the forest would lead you to the Periyar. Highly recommended!

Nice place, there is a small trekking space near to it ie idamalayar hydroelectric project that was also amazing. Nice spot for a 1day trip.

Bhoothankettu i(above 4500 reviews)s the orginal page of this place, rest of page is duplicates, including this page. 08/01/20.The new bridge is on final stage, The view from the bottom side of dam is beautiful. The road to Edamalyar was closed due to Elephants July2019 .We reached their by 6pm and left by 8 pm.Very silent and safe, we spent time near the dam side. The lighting and surroundings are neat and safe. Good hotel and food is available at kothamangalam(12km away from here) Boating, light house, Park is up to 6.30pm. Very nice, safe place for kids and family.
