Bhairavagad Fort Shirpunje is a shrine and there is a temple of Shri Bhairavagad on this fort. To reach this place you have to reach from Rajur to Shirpunje village. There is ample parking space at the base of the fort. To get to the fort, there are a few steps at first, after which the path is made of stones. In view of safety, the forest department has installed railings at some places. It takes a total of 1.30 hours to reach the fort and the path is steep. On reaching the top there are 2 ladders and the one on the left leads to the Bhairavagad temple where you will find water tanks and Jalakumbh. The ladder on the right can be used to get to the ghanchakkr point. There is a very strong wind over the fort and the clouds can be seen closely here.

Bhairavgad shirpunje is situated in Shirpunje budruk, Akole, Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. It is famous as Pilgrim place for devotees of Bhairoba. Localities regularly visit this place. For trekkers it is best treat to discover challenging place. Ghanchakkar is the top most peak of Bhairavgad. You need to go through railings to reach at the pass. From pass first take left side railings for climbing to reach at Bhairoba Mandir. On this fort you can find cisterns, caves, some evictions of fortification. Bhairoba mandir is carved out in rock. It has immense spiritual importance. You need 2-3 hours explore whole fort area. Do visit this place once in a year.
