Very good hotel, good hospitality, good behaviour of all staff, and food quality is superb.... heater is available in the room. Overall experience with this hotel is very very good. Location is good, it's on Highway itself, excellent view of Glacier from the Rooms...

Though this place is known as Youth Hostel, it is not under YHAI but it is run by Tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir. It's basically backpackers hostel and mess, kitchen, common Washrooms, big halls for big groups are available alongwith some two bedded attached rooms. It is on the bank's of Sindhu river just 1 km away from the Sonmarg market at a very calm and peaceful location. From here one can visit Sonmarg Development Authority's Mahasir fish rearing centre cum garden cum a small but beautiful waterfall which is just 1 km away. One can also get bus for Baltal (9 km), Zojilla Pass, Drass, Kargil and Leh from here. If you are averse to the hustle and bustle of tourists and salesmen then this is an ideal place for you.

Very big and beautiful place. Food was not that good though. 24hrs hot water facility is available. Both dorm and private rooms for family is available here.
