Visited the place after decades. As it is one the oldest restaurants in Bangalore but has shifted it's original location which was in Brigade Road.
The atmosphere was pleasant one. Quite spacious and airy. It was also good to see they do serve drinks here.
I choose Kingfisher Draught Beer and it was awful. Regretted this and wsh I had some other beer.
The starters were initially good but later it became worse. The chicken was average. The fish was terrible and was surprised that the standards have gone so low.
The fried rice was so oily and to recollect that one period they were the best in the business.
The desert was good and something different.
The service was okay and could have been better.

Amazing asian food! Loved every bit. Ambience is quite & calm. Service is great. A must try dish is the Spinach Chicken. It’s lovely! Not too expensive & not very cheap! Can visit more than once!

Really liked the food, must try it's speciality spinach fried chicken. Mango cheesecake is also a must try dessert.
So far the best place in Bangalore for Chinese. Really happy:)

We booked the table for ten in advance but we arrived late. They were courteous and accommodated us soon. The food was fantastic ,simply because it was not pungent and it was very tasty. The fruit juices were delicious. The service was customer -friendly. Melodious music wafted in the air. Valet parking was available. ???

I recently visited the restaurant to see if it still lives up to its reputation they had of of serving good Chinese and Asian food. Yes they do good old food. The restaurant's ambiance is quite pleasing, with its elegant decor and comfortable seating. The menu is extensive, offering a range of Chinese and Asian dishes that cater to different tastes. However, the prices are on the higher side compared to other Chinese and Asian restaurants in the area. The portions served at The Rice Bowl are quite generous, and I was pleased with the amount of food I received. However, the service has gone downhill recently, with the staff showing a lot of arrogance, even the valet. This attitude can be quite off-putting and affects the overall dining experience. One thing to note is that the restaurant tends to get very crowded during lunchtime, so be prepared to wait for a while before being seated. The valet parking service is available, which is convenient for those driving to the restaurant. Despite the poor service, I highly recommend trying out some of the dishes at The Rice Bowl. The Meat Special Mixed Fried Rice was delicious and packed with flavor. The Crispy Spinach Chicken was also a standout dish, with the right amount of crunch and seasoning. Another dish worth trying is the Tai Pai Chicken, which was tender and juicy.
Overall, The Rice Bowl has its ups and downs. It's a restaurant that has been around for a long time and holds a special place in the hearts of many, including myself, who tried Chinese food for the first time here as a kid. However, the poor service and high prices may make it a less attractive option for some.
