So much restaurants keep mushrooming all around Hyderabad's prime areas, we tend to ignore many and so it becomes a prime focus for new ventures to identify location that can strategically place them in the food landscape with an identity and purpose. The Reindeer Fusion Resto is the newbie to join this list as they have identified a location in MLA colony where there is no multi cuisine restaurant in the entire stretch technically where you get lots of options and yes, I guess indeed they have won in that aspect and when they bring in fusion cuisine to the table, the offering becomes that much more interesting and exciting to try with.
We were invited for food preview dinner last week and I should say the food definitely proved their homework and planning towards a good stable launch to mark their place in that area.
#Ambience - It gives you a cozy spring cottage cafe feel as you enter into the 5th floor with bright lights and the yellowish wooden tint all across the furnitures to give you that cozy cottage feeling and definitely the glass view (on day light said to give you the entire area view including the park and lake) is definitely an advantage. The place oozes comfort seating and definitely one of the best decor done with proper thought process.
#Food - the menu is mostly continental and indian but each dish has got a twist in terms of presentation or ingredient or such bring in something totally out of the box. Many of the dishes in starters impressed us so high that I was blow away.
#Laksa - spicy prawn soup with rice noodles was flavor packed, simple and packed a punch from first sip while #MushroomCappuccino was simple and flavor. I still love the one in Oakleaf though. #SpinachCottageCheeseDimsums were one of the best dimsums though not super soft were delectable. #BeetBurger now here comes a veggie patty burger infused mainly with beet inside which blew us in terms of flavor, textural contrasts and I being a hard core meat lover loved this to the core - STAR OF THE NIGHT. #PestChickenPanini was good but too much of sauced killed it for me. #KheemaPoori is the most unique fusion mix dish I have had but the combo worked very well. The kheema was brilliant.
#ChickenCheeseFingers needed improvement as it lacked the cheesy texture you expected in any cheese fingers and so was #ChickenMoneyBags as it didn't appeal to me in any sense. #TandooriStuffedchicken was served on sizzler plate sizzling and the flavors filled in the place. The aroma of the charcoal grilled tandoori chicken on outer with garam masala infused kheema chicken stuffed, what a delicious dish it was.
#ChatPizza and #KheemaPizza both had nice balance of thin crust and toppings and served the purpose.
Special of the night goes to #ChickenSukkawithDosaWaffle - this was the fusion dish of the night. Take dosa batter and serve it as a waffle and top it with mangalore style chicken sukka fry , Wola - amazing flavor contrasts I tell you - MUST TRY :)
While the starters impressed us at par level, main course on other side had a little derail in terms of mutton biryani and patiala murgh which failed to impressed me big time.
To compensate in come in the Dessert duet of #Golimaar (moti choor laddu served over basundhi shots) , #chineseCrepes served with shredded coconut dimsum rolls and rose petal ice cream. Former one was a mass appeal while the latter had a class appeal but at the end of the day both impressed and wrapped up one of an amazing dinners in recent times in terms of fusion try out experience.
I wish they focus a bit on main course to ensure the overall experience stays above the bar when compared to starters and desserts.
Verdict : If you are in this area and bored of focussed cuisine based restaurant and want something for everyone, this is the place to be and do not miss the must trys. I think if they keep the focus on food as what we experience, they will definitely embark a place for themselves in this landscape.

Reindeer is the best new restaurant in Hyderabad city! Food is so good, I wish I could move in next door! Of extra special note are the Lamb Chops - so succulent & well made that after every bite a small prayer would pass through your lips thanking the kind god that gave you the chance to taste it! A couple more specials - the mocktails Reindeer Mary & Hot Toddy - are Indian twists on classic cocktails. Other must try items - Cilantro Chicken, Peri-peri Chicken, Chettinad Chicken, the dessert Golimaar. I've promised myself I'm going to keep going back until I've tried everything on the exhaustive menu. All in all, the folks at Reindeer are masters of the craft and if you love food, you owe yourself a visit!

Lovely ambience and good food. This place has a lot of options for seating and each one is picturesque. I had been wanting to go here for quite some time and had a pleasant experience when I finally visited. Had their Reindeer Vergin Drink,Thai Green Curry which was nice and filling, the very fact that nothing was left out from the dishes makes it quite implicit that the food was amazing. As they say,the best is reserved for the last and this statement was quite true for the dessert that we had Chinese Creps with Rose Petal Ice cream on top was notch and delicious
