Quiet surprised, why people don't know about it and don't have it on their to-visit-list.
A national level museum alike and equivalent to National Museum, Delhi. I am very impressed by Madhya Pradesh state.
A huge and gigantic campus that you cannot cover it even in one full day (if visited enthusiastically).
And there's also Tribal Museum in the same vicinity.
One can just go and sit in the campus for natural and fresh experience.
Ticket price is 20₹ for Indian citizen.
200₹ for Foreign Nationals.
100₹ for non-flash photography.

It's a nice place to study and enjoy the state museum Bhopal. Entry ticket is Rs 20/- . If you want to take photos inside the museum then you have to pay Rs 50/- for extra. The sculptures, statues and idols of ancient time are just awesome. Take your time to witness each and every galary of the museum. I specially love the ground floor galaries. Ancient statues of Buddha , Yakkhi, Hara Gouri are marvelous. If you are visiting tribal museum then you should also visit the state museum as both are in the same premises. When I visited the place, it was almost vacant. There were only one or two tourists visiting the museum on that very moment. So I took my time to watch each and every item minutely. It took almost 1 and half hours to finish all galaries. So my suggestion is that you should have time in your hand before you visit the museum.

Amazing museum with a lots of historic relics and sculptures. It is well maintained.
This place is adjacent to tribal Museum.
It has lot of galleries, each gallery with different historical significance.
I would highly recommend to visit this place Atleast once.

A place full of knowledge you just need to go and aquire it. It has the details of Madhya Pradesh rulers from past the Britishers. You will get to see great scluptures from 1st century, original letters from mp rulers to our national leaders like jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, stamps and autographs, currency coins from different ages, weapons gallery, manuscripts gallery, freedom movement gallery, Epigraphs, royal collections, etc

Awesome place to visit. This museum has more and better relics than the museum in Mumbai. Coins kept in no-photo RBI museum are kept in full view here
