If you are visiting Puri, you can plan a day trip to Nilmadhav temple, Kantilo, the origin of the Jagannath dev in Puri.
Nilamadhava Temple is very old and famous Lord Vishnu temple which is situated near the bank of Mahanadi. It is said that before lord Jaganath come to Puri He used to reside here in deep forest in the name of lord Nilamadhav.?

A very old temple that existed even before puri jagannath came to Odisha. Very beautiful view of mahanadi from the temple. Nice place to visit. Even a ferry ride is there!

Sri Nilamadhava Temple (Odia: ନୀଳମାଧବଜିଉ ମନ୍ଦିର, କଣ୍ଟିଲୋ) is very old and famous Lord Vishnu temple which is near to the bank of Mahanadi, in Kantilo, Odisha, India. It is present near to the twin hills with a surrounding forest. A permanent flow of holy water from the feet of Lord Nilamadhava is another attraction of the spot. Lord Siddheswar is also present which is another highlight of the place.
Another excitement is boating in mahanadi.

The temple is very attractive and beautiful but the priest are so much greedy they will irritate you asking money. The temple is situated on the bank of the river Mahanadi ,the view of the Mahanadi from the temple is very nice. There is also boating service to take a beautiful experience on the Mahanadi
