Such an awesome place with stunning backwaters. Try taking the boat ride in the evening around 4.30pm. Sunset in this place is very delightful to see. There are two routes to Munroe island (Mundrothuruthu), one of which leads to road where you can take a ferry along with your motorbike. It will be a great experience. Please make sure to try that too

It is a group of eight small islets comprising a total area of about 13.4 km2. The island, accessible by road, rail and inland water navigation, is about 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Kollam by road, 38 kilometres (24 mi) north from Paravur, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west from Kundara and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Karunagapally. This island is also known as "Sinking Island of Kerala"

One of the main tourist places in Kollam district, If you like back water, you can really enjoy this place. Here you will get small boat for Village tour, it will be very nice experience for you... Hardly 20 KM from Kollam city...

Beautiful island near kollam city. It's easily accessible via road, boat or railways. The place is calm and serene, with beautiful mangroves canals and lakes. The boating is a bit overrated and a rip off in my option as you can reach anywhere in the island via the well connected and paved roads. But if you do love some slow boating through the canals then do check it out. Overall highly recommend to take in the natural backwater beauty of kerala.
