Located in the outskirts of Bengaluru, Muninagara Dam is just 33 kms away from the city through the Kanakpura Road. It's a wonderful journey through the Nice Road. Shaded by trees, lush greenery and the beautiful straight roads just made my day. After a certain point the roads really are broken and it takes you through the village areas. But it was our badluck that the Google map didn't work as expected. I was awestruck when we reached the destination! Through the muddy and the broken roads was the hidden treasure.A beautiful dam surrounded by hills. I found my peace there though the serenity and the calmness of the place. You can actually speak to your mind and transform yourself .Just an amazing view, though it's an offbeat place to visit.

The place is a good getaway for weekend and which is close by to Bangalore. The place is open and the view in the morning is worth the watch. There are two bridges to get a proper view.

Muninagara Dam A good half-a-day outing spot. We went via the Bannerghatta road to this dam. Map perfectly guides you to reach the spot. On the way, you will spot fields with various cultivation like brinjal, flowers, etc. It was nice traveling the narrow road with beautiful cultivation on either side. There is a small village right next to the lake. You will have to park your car nearby and get down to walk through the little streets of the village to reach the dam. It's a small quaint village with houses on either side of the cement roads. As you walk down, you will see the beautiful dam in midst of the mountains. The spot is very scenic. However, there is no spot to sit and enjoy this. There is also a halfway bridge that you can walk up to for a picturesque photo. Just ask the locals the way to this bridge. On the way back you can cover Sri Champakadhama Swami Gudi which is near the Bannerghatta zoo. You will notice this temple on the hill when you return from or towards this dam.
