This statue at the entrance towards the temple is an iconic one. The Mahishasura statue comes with its own story of how its related to Chamundi. Nevertheless, this place is a nice spot to take a few family pics for memories!

Mahishasura is the name of the demon that Goddess Chamundi slays here, hence the name of the city Mahisha’s ooru, Mysuru. Every time I used to hear the story and when I visited Mysuru, I used to be scared to pass by his statue ?. Now it’s a selfie point here at betta (hills). Park your vehicles and come by walk to see him in full glory. Usually the place will be packed with crowd to get a picture.
