A nice museum with many rare collections. An unique museum mainly based on Loktak areas and it's livelihoods. Good collection and nice exhibits. Though not very big, a visit will tell you more about Loktak, Moirang and more about Manipur, its people and past. It is situated within Loktak Lake.
if you are a tourist visiting manipur for a short period of time you should visit Loktak Folklore Museum, here for sure to get a brief idea of the Loktak of Manipur and it's people. it does benefit not only tourists but individuals and students also to learn and know about Loktak areas and it's livelihoods in a broad prospect.

Located within Loktak lake area, this museum is a privately owned and maintained. The displays show us as how the people of the area live their life and what type of tools they use in their daily life. Weaving n fishing are the primary activity of people their. You can also purchase silk shawls/dupatta at a very low price. Worth a visit for everyone.

Received warm welcome from family members (museum owners).
Felt that nature is equally gracious to bestow beauty in Loktak as well as in people's heart at Loktak.
