My key takeaways after having frequented the S.R Das road shop thrice. 1. All over get up: The store is compactly set up but one faces the inconvenience of having to open their shoes every time they enter which is highly unfeasible and inconvenient to consumers on the go. The owner should make necessary arrangements to solve the same. 2. Service: The store owner is well behaved and accomodating but his primary assistant has a very haughty attitude reeking of arrogance. I remember having gone in the owner's absence requesting the assistant to fetch me some rock salt to treat my fish and he rudely remarked that they only sell aquarium salt and should go to a departmental store instead. (naturally anyone with common sense would visit a pet shop to buy products that are niche and specifically catered to their animals and not the ones used in day to day life). I also noticed that the owner exercised preferential treatment based on his perception of customers which is very unfair in my opinion. 3. Products: The shop houses a variety of fish and an assortment of products but I'd advice any new hobbyist to visit the shop only after doing their homework. I purchased a few plants (mainly Anubias and Java fern and they held up pretty nicely). Now here is the flip side, i got two baloon platies and they were infected with gill fluke and other parasites. The owner quoted a price of Rs. 150 per piece (which is comparatively steep in terms of market price to those sold in other online and offline chains). The owner could contend that the same price is reflected due to the premium value or novelty attached to product but that argument would fall in shambles because the fish were exhibiting signs of infection which show poor quality of the livestock in itself. This accounts for GROSS FAILURE in the adherence of basic industry standards of quartining and selling healthy fish followed by most fish traders world wide. Lastly, the owner might contend that I as buyer should have exercised the principle of caveat emptor (buyer must beware) but that would again be a wrongful premise to adhere to in this case as such transactions often happen on mutual trust/fiduciary relations. Conclusion: All over very dissapointed by the quality of service afforded in this shop. I would request the store owner to hire competent staff who know how to cater to clients instead of posing to be Fish Pundits and acting out in a whimsical and capricious fashion. Secondly, would advice the owner to sell healthy livestock and do something about having to open shoes everytime.

Got worst service from the shop.Very unprofessional behaviour and take double the cost than actual.I purched rock from the store and on the very next day i tell them i want to exchange the rock as my goldfish might get infection from the rock.but they denied to exchange the rocks.I purchased many things from there shop but i their behavoiur is really shocking.There are other good store available in the city who are giving variety of authentic fish and product.
