This is one of the ancient Rama temples in India and one of the must visit Rama temples. The temple itself is more than 1200 years old. The pandit ji was also really nice and told us a lot about the temple. It is said that Lord Rama gave darshan to Lord Parsurama at this place and it is only temple where Ma Sita is at the right hand side of Lord Rama.

The place is divine.. Mantras are spelt in Kannada while doing aarti.. The place is just within 500m from main road . And don't forget to meet Hiremagalur Kannan who stays just next to the temple.

Though not very well known , the Kodandarama temple of Hiremagalur is worth visiting . It is said to be the place where Rama subdued Parashurama”s pride. The moolavigraha group in the sanctum is unique because Sita is placed to the right of Rama and there is no Hanuman in the group . The architecture is a mix of late hoysala , dravida and vijayanagara-nayaka styles . The priest is very kind and friendly . A short distance away from this temple , in front of the Shivalaya, is a tall stone pillar-like structure called The Yupasthambha of Janamejaya’s yagna.
