The place is good to get the feel of authentic Manglorean food. But last day they served a stale fish curry and then we had to request them to change. They changed it but they charged us?. So I am really not happy. They don't have a price for the sea food main course so ask them about that in advance else they will charge you randomly. The prawn was tasty though.

It’s really nice to have authentic South Indian food. Love their fish categories and lot of options in the menu. Great ambience Must try place in HSR Layout.

Kadal Da meen is on very peaceful lane of HSR club road. Easily visible from outside. Cuisine served here is Mangalorean Food revolving fish, which is definitely close to my heart. They got amazing decor, gives you that authentic feel of Old Mangalore home made from Red Rocks and Famous Mangalorean Tiles. Service has been amazing, absolutely no complain. Captain and waiter are there to serve even when you don't need them. Ha, Wait to be honest, place wasn't crowded. Now coming to food, after all the hype and recommendations about this place, tried Fish Thali. There was boiled rice, makarel with fish gravy, Neer dosa, chicken sukka, dry prawn chutney, something crispy( don't remember name), rasam, dal, Alu matar sabji, 2 fried snapper, butter milk. Yes.. this is what been served in one fish thali. Fish wasn't fresh like you get back in coastal towns, but good enough for what's been served. Fish gravy is more low quality fish gravy i.e less coconut milk. Boiled rice was very sticky. Apart from that, definitely filling for a lunch. For all that was served it cost mere Rs 159. Will drop soon to explore more. This place deserve to be full. Good food, hygiene and Excellent service is provided in Kadal Da Meen.

In my usual food hunting today my tummy landed me here for lunch. Being a Manglorian how can I resist Fish Food. Ambience - This is totally unique. Am not sure how much others would love but I totally loved it. It gave me a feeling of traditional old house. The detailing is considered so much that you will even find a sparrow's nest. For a second I even felt that I am in Mangalore. Food - The food is Sea Food and authentic Mangalore taste. Even the detailing is considered so well that the food is served on banana leaf and the utensils are of earthen pots, which was very very unique to find. Portion size is good enough. The fish was fresh enough as they directly get it from Malpe (was lucky enough to meet the owner and he informed me this) Staff Behaviour - Staff here are polite and helpful. Observations - 1. Price for a fish meal is very cheap when compared with the near by hotels. 2. Price to quantity is good. 3. Order to Serving time is quick 4. They accept Card Machine.
