As the name suggest, there's a man-made water body (chira in malayalam) constructed at the bottom of the hill from of the famous wireless police station. The place is so scenic and spectacular. No entry fee or checking when visited. The remnants of old wireless station and a new building can be seen at the top along with the old wireless station.

A really beautiful place where one can connect well to nature . There is a tea stall near the entrance run by an old guy he is fun to talk to . It's an easy trek which offers a promising view of the valley and one can see malankara dam from the top . Overall a great experience highly recommend .

Ilaveezhapoonchira is a beautiful place to visit near Pala or Thodupuzha. Nice place for off-roading. You can also take jeeps either from Melukavumattom or Kanjiramkavala to reach here. There you have to trek nearly 2km to reach the top at which you will get a beautiful site of Malankara dam. New and old wireless stations of Police are located in the top. Lot of families visit this place as a one day trip. Place looks much beautiful and photographic on clear sky day and days with little rain.
