It's fish hatchery under kerala goverment fisheries department. They provide good quality ornamental and edible fish seeds to the farmers at low price range. This hatchery is situated in goverment officers quarters near kollam town. They maintain a good infrastructure for breeding fishes on the shores of Ashtamudi lake. They breed different types of ornamental fishes like gold fish, koi carp, angel, sward tail and edible fishes like carp(karimeen), Anabas, etc
