Because it is right outside or home in ansal Colony, officially name Ansal's Suryodaya Vihar. The pictures that were next to this listing though is not of this Gandhi park and are from the gandhi park in Meerut Cantt. It is opposite the Wheler Club and accessible from the mall road and roorkee road. The park is very old and said to be from the time when the East India Company was in control here. It is said to have been made by the East India Company and used to be called the "Company Bagh" till we were pre teens. I am not sure when the name was changed to Gandhi Bagh. We and many others used to refer to it as Company Bagh when in school and college but it was called Gandhi Bagh by some people even then.. It has a jogging/walking track and different varieties of plants. I believe there are some ducks and rabbits there too. There is also a big ground that is used for cricket matches and as a venue for Diwali Mela etc.

The biggest and best park in Meerut. Extremely popular with morning walkers when the entry is also free of cost. Full of greenery and huge trees.

A historical place where Gandhi ji organised his "sabha" against Britishers and violence.Place is improving day by day ,very peaceful place and we can have boating also. A music visit place.
