Recently checked out Sahara Star’s E.A.S.T’s restaurant when I knew they have recently revamped its menu from being Chinese focused to Pan Asian cuisine which spread across cuisines like Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. What I like about this place is their ambiance that takes you close proximity to the culture of true Asian experience with its live kitchen station, tepanyaki grills, etc. Sahara brand is known for its highest level of customer experience be it at the entrance of the grand lobby to multiple areas of this grand property and within restaurants (Covid protocols), that is one thing you will take back with you as a great customer experience and I had the same with Mr. Amit who was attending us with utmost diligence and care. I started off with Green Silken Soup (Rating 5/5). This nourishing soup gets most of its flavor from combination of Asian greens with base of spring onions and Chinese broccoli, bok choy etc. Sushi’s are must have out here. I tried their Tiger Tear Uramaki (Rating 5/5) and Mushroom Truffle Maki Roll (Rating 5/5). You will be spoilt with extravagant sushi’s that chef’s prepare here. Highly recommended. Dimsums were equally palatable to our taste buds. I tried theirs Pakchoy and Golden Garlic in Beet red crystal (Rating 5/5), Chestnut and Asparagus in Spinach green crystal (Rating 5/5), Mushroom and chilli in orange crystal (Rating 5/5). Best of the lot were the Asparagus ones. Nothing fancy but a well steamed dimsums with high quality ingredients. Given we are fan of spring rolls we tried a unique take on the same prepared by Chef Rahul by the name of Asparagus Phyllo (Rating 5/5). These light and crisp rolls were very aspirational and certainly one of the star dishes of the evening. In mains we tried chef’s recommended Mushroom and Beans in Hot Bean Sauce (Rating 5/5) Vegetable Baifan (Rating 5/5). A beautiful, aromatic and brilliantly executed curry and rice combo which is true to its origins (less Indianised Chinese). I highly recommend them. Dessert was Ginger Chocolate Mousse (Rating 5/5). Presentation was to the point and the mousse is not like any other mousse that we typically have. You will be surprised with the treat under that cigar. All in all a perfect experience as always from brand Sahara and am I truly cherish each of their restaurants. I rate this 5.

Got a chance to visit E.A.S.T which stands for 'East Asian Spice Trail' restaurant which is one of the prestigious restaurant of Sahara Star Hotel in vile parle (near domestic airport terminal), and the name truly holds true as the menu explores all the Asian dishes and the ingredients used in making those dishes justifies the spice trail theory on which the restaurant stands. EAST offers both indoor and outdoor seating , indoor seating has black and white interiors and at the center has open kitchen to witness chefs in action while cooking whereas outdoor opens at the most famous part of the hotel Blue lagoon which is truly an amazing place to dine in. Restaurant is managed by Mr Sagar, very friendly and charming also concerned weather customers are satisfied with the service and food. Sous Chef Vikas very polite and helped us to understand how they have curated the dishes and ingredients used in making of the dishes we had. And I am thankful to Mr. Amit who attended our table, very quick and patient in service. Coming to what we had !!! We started our dinner with a soup, which was accompanied by 2 sides, one was sweet roasted peanuts with lemon grass and other kimchi salad. ? Soup ? Spicy Bean Curd Soup Wow ... Amazing soup ... Broth made with soy, vinegar, chills and veggies had perfect consistency, flavours were really good a accompanied with exotic veggies like carrot, mushroom, babycorn, zucchini, broccoli etc and Bean Curd cudes which were adding slight sweetness to the soup and complimenting the broth.... Loved it. ? Som Tum Salad ? Shredded raw papaya dressed with brown sugar, soy, vinegar, chillis, garlic, tamarind and lemon juice finished with peanut, cherry tomatoes and coriander leaves. Very Refreshing and appetizing ------Moving towards starters----- ?Man Farang ? Potato wedges fried and than wok tossed in the roasted Thai spices, chillis and garlic finished with some green onion .... loved this dish ... It is one of the signature served at the restaurant ... Beauty of the dish is each and every wedge was very well coated with the slices and garlic .... Dish had uniform taste throughout. Must try ...!!!! ?Sui Mai ? It's an open dumpling from the top .... Made with 6 variety of mushrooms like shitake, button, oyster etc, mushrooms sre minced and coated with butter garlic, stuffed in the thin wrap and steamed with perfection. As soon as you put these delicious dumpling inside you mouth, it just melts down in seconds, left you with so many amazing flavours of mushroom and hint of garlic. That's why makes it a signature dish over here and definitely worth the price. ?Tofu with Garlic Tomato Chilli ? Cudes of tofu deep fried to form crispy covering than wok tossed in the scrumptious tangy sweet chilli sauce made with tomatoes, garlic, chilli finished with some onion, green onion and bell peppers...loved it ------- Mains -------- ? Shanghai Clay pot with Dried Bean Curd & chilli bean sauce ? Exotic veggies like babycorn, zucchini, lotus stem, bok choy , turnip, water chestnut etc wok tossed in the sweet and spicy gravy of Thai sauces with bean curd. Very appetizing. ? Hakka Noodles Loved these noodles ... I can eat them without any gravy ... So flavourful .... Noodles wok tossed in the veggies like carrot, bell peppers, onion , garlic , cabbage and sprouts ... Just loved them. ? Fried Rice Rice wok tossed with the veggies like broccoli, peas, babycorn, onion, garlic and beans finished with fried garlic and green onion.... Garlic flavour was uniform and loved the texture of the rice not over cooked. ---------- Coming to Desserts -------- ?Pandan Coconut Jelly ? Scrumptious dessert .... Concoction of coconut milk, cream and sugar served over the bed of water chestnut ( which is soaked in the watermelon juice to give red colour and flavour) and Ripped jackfruit chunks. Loved the dessert ... It had crunch of chestnut, softness from jackfruit and coconut flavour Binding both together. ?Wasabi Ice-cream? Unique dessert ...loved it

Hotel Sahara Star has always been our favourite place amongst the other 5 stars not because of its ambiance but also for its food. . E.A.S.T. which is East Asian Spice Trail gives you an authentic experience of Asian Cuisine. Dim light interiors with comfortable sofas of this restaurant includes a huge open kitchen where the dishes are made live in front of you, EAST restaurant also includes outdoor seating overlooking the whole of the hotel architecture. We chose to sit outside because Sheesha is served only if you’re seated outdoor. They have recently started serving Sheesha (Hookah) which just adds an amazing experience to the overall meal. Sheesha lovers would love the Sheesha served here as the atmosphere is mesmerising. Hookah at EAST comes with various options of flavours, we tried out Sweet BubbleGum which was fabulous! The Menu features Pan Asian cuisine. We tried the Veg Set Menu which was mind blowing starting from the soup & salads to appetiser & main course then the desserts. (Refer to the photo attached of Veg Set menu) Recommended Dishes to try out here- 1) Tom Kha Soup 2) Butter Garlic Mushroom Dimsums 3) Tofu with Garlic Tomato Chili 4) Shanghai Clay Pot with Burnt Garlic Rice. Recommended Dessert- Coconut Jelly Our overall meal was decent. Service provided by the staff was flawless. They made sure everything was spot on correct. We had an amazing experience here, hope to visit this gem of a place once again.
