It's a beautiful river. Several picnic spots are available around both sides of river bank. The river flows in Birbhum district although originated from Santal Pargana district of Jharkhand. Two famous places beside this rivers bank are Nil Nirjon (near chinpai in Panagarh Morgram highway and the nearest town is Dubrajpur) and Behira (near purandarpur beside Suri Bolpur main road). These two places are most attractive picnic spots in Birbhum district. The river lost its depth now, and due to this flood took place in rainy seasons. Otherwise the river is very calm in all seasons. The river meets with Kopai river. For irrigation system one canel called Bakreswar Canel is also used which was created from Bakreswar river.
