Well, being a retired Colonel of Indian Army, my views may be biased towards the Army Officers Institute (AOI). AOI, Trivandrum, is unique on several counts. My better half (whom I refer to as my Commanding Officer) as well as I, are frequent visitors here. We enjoy our association with the institute to the core. There, we are looked after by the staff, as if we were members of the extended Armed Forces family. It is the nicest place to unwind after a busy week. one catch - gentlemen have to wear shoes and must be invited over to the AOI by an existing member. All and sundry cannot walk in and strict behavior as well as dress codes are enforced.
