Areekkal waterfalls is in around 12 kilometers from muvattupuzha. The place is attractive and the waterfalls is scenic. The place is managed by government authorities and is neat and clean.
The waterfalls is beautiful but felt that it may get dried out during summer. The best time to visit will be June to September. There are no much shopping around. One should have costume for getting in water as it is allowed to be under the waterfall which will be a very good experience. There are change rooms to change your clothing. A prepared visit will be worth to spend few hours.
The timing is 8am to 6 pm and has an entry fee of INR 20/- per person. Snacks and tea available nearby on small cost.

Beautiful Waterfals surrounded by plantations"
The Areeckal waterfalls is hardly one hour drive from Cochin and either we can take deviation from Thodupuzha- Muvattupuzha Road or from Piravom to reach there. People comes during holidays and weekends to the place. The tranquil atmosphere and unpolluted surroundings makes it a perfect destination for spending some time with family or friends. The walk through the trail in the rubber plantations, the cave near by and the modest but beautiful waterfalls will make your day memorable…
