Former Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel inaugurated Bhuchar Mori Shaheed memorial at Dhrol ( district, Jamnagar ) Statue of the brave Kumar Ajaji was also unveiled on the occasion. Bhuchar Mori battle was fought in 1591 AD between the forces of ruler of Nawanagar (Jamnagar), Jam Sataji, and Akbar’s army on the outskirts of Dhrol. Jam Sataji remained determined to protect the Gujarat Sultan who had sought asylum and in turn, Mughals waged a war against him. Kumar Ajaji was the son of Jam Sataji who fought bravely before falling in the battle field. On the occasion, CM Smt Patel directed the officials to develop Bhuchar Mori Shaheed Van, on the lines of Van Mahotsav, to commemorate the history of this place. In her address, CM Smt Patel shared details of various schemes initiated by the state government for the welfare of the people. She expressed satisfaction that in the ongoing state-wide health camps organized by the government, over 43 lakh children have been screened and free diabetes tests, mammography, tests of breast and cervical cancer have been conducted across 10,000 Health Centres in the state till now.
